Nukes are attacks that manage to disconnect some machine from the network, usually by making it lock up. Flooders are programas that overload a box with packets, usually rendering it unresponsive ou extremely slow to a non-local client. The machine stops responding to external packets, either because doesn't have any free ports or because doesn't have enough resources to accept/maintain a connection (which times out). |
